Bamboo RSK; the future

IMGP7872

The bamboo RSK initiative is an open source project to promote the use of reciporocal frame roof shelter construction in countries with bamboo resources.

A reciprocal frame roof has many advantages over conventional methods used for shelter construction as shown on this website. When bamboo is used instead of steel it is simple to assemble and exceptionally strong.

At workshops in Nepal and South Sudan we have demonstrated how easily the shelter can be assembled using only basic skills.

The next stage will be to share this basic knowledge more widely in the shelter sector and communities so that it can be used as an option where tarpaulins are being distributed.

To achieve this we are looking for partners, individuals or groups, that can assist in promoting the use of the shelter in the field.

Please contact us to discuss how we can work together to achieve these aims.
