Emergency shelter kit. 7 poles , 2 tarps, ropes and lashings

A SIMPLE KIT

Only 7 poles are required for the basic emergency shelter. As poles are approximately 2 metres, 3 metres and 4 metres in length a tape measure is not essential.

No special skills are needed, all the poles are simply cross lashed together.

All the upgrades of the basic shelter to larger temporary shelters use the same basic roof frame.

Repairs are easy, and all materials needed are available locally. A broken pole can be supported by a bamboo splint or simply replaced.

The kit is lightweight and easily carried. The poles and tarpaulin can be used to make a stretcher to carry debiltated individuals or household possessions.
