practical shelter innovation for disaster relief


Both the steel and bamboo shelter materials can all be recycled or find good applications after use:

  •   The entire roof can be used to make a transitional shelter. It can also be

    •   used as a template for a more permanent shelter.
      • Unlike the modern fibreglass frame tents which deteriorate in the intense

        •   UV light , the steel frame itself could be recycled for future disasters
          •  Tarpaulins will always be useful for roof lining and repair

              •  The main frame can me modified to make a ReciproMal frame which can

                •   be used in mud huts for hanging mosquito nets
                  •  Rope and twine are easily recycled to use again

                      •  The steel fixings are malleable enough to be worked into other practical

                        •   implements
